Youth from across the US lending a helping hand in the
Parsons Paint Project by helping paint houses and making repairs!
All summer long! Kiwanis Train Rides
The Kiwanis Train at Forest Park runs Tuesday and Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM, and on
Sundays from 6 PM to 8 PM. Call Patrick Smith, Engineer for more information at
(620)423-7783. The train runs Memorial Day to Labor Day. Call ahead if it is a
holiday to check the schedule.

July 27th through August 1st, Labette County Fair
Located at the Oswego Fairgrounds. Livestock and 4-H exhibits, Demolition Derby, Rodeo, Concessions and Carnival, Free Live Music & Entertainment.
July 30th and 31rst, LCHS I never saw another butterfly
7:30 p.m. at the Parsons Municipal Building. No admission charged, however, donations will be gladly accepted to help with the cost of performances at the American H.S. Theatre Festival in Scotland.

July 31st, Stuff the Bus
Collecting school supply donations at Walgreens on the 31st of July. Donations accepted will be paper, notebooks, folders and binders, school boxes and bags, crayons, rulers, scissors, high lighters, hand sanitizer, glue sticks, bottled glue, erasers, etc.

August 1st, Society for Creative Anachronism meeting
The Shire of Bois d' Arc a nonprofit orginazation for those interested in the study of and recreation of Western European society from 600AD to 1600AD, will hold its monthly meeting at the Parsons Park Sunday Aug. 1st at 2pm. August 7th, The Clothing Exchange
The Clothing Exchange hours have been extended for August. Friday, August 6th from 2pm to 6pm and also on Saturday, August 7th from 9am to 12pm Come and drop off unwanted or unneeded clothes, or come and browse to see if there are any clothes you would like or need! August 11th, Grief Companions Support Group
Open to the public. Starts at 6:00 PM. Enter through the North Door. Group meets on 2nd Thursday each month. Anyone who has lost a loved one is invited to attend. Facilitated by Wayne Mason, Chaplain, Sponsored by Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice

August 28th 4:00-8:00PM, Second Annual Back to School Bash!
There WILL be food and drinks for sale, plus school supply giveaways, community booths, bouncies, and BANDS!!
The bands performing are: Johannes, Saltbox, Point 5, P-Air, with guests J-Blast & Lady-C

A Little About Parsons
Parsons Kansas is located in the northern part of Labette County. It is
the most populous city of Labette County, and it is the second most
populous city in the southeastern region of Kansas.
In 2006 Downtown Parsons was awarded the Great American Main Street
Award for its successful efforts in revitalizing its downtown area through
historic preservation. Parsons was one of only five cities receiving
the 2006 award.
